Innere Stadt (the 1st District) is Vienna's UNESCO-listed historic core, the former centre of the Habsburg Empire and today the city's most prestigious residential and commercial address. Anchored by the Hofburg Imperial Palace, Stephansdom, the State Opera, and the Ringstrasse boulevard, the district packs Vienna's most iconic landmarks into a single walkable quarter. Residential prices run EUR 9,000-15,000 per square metre, Vienna's highest, with gross yields of 3.0-3.8%.
