Toyosu (Koto)

Toyosu is what Tokyo built when it had a blank canvas. Rising on reclaimed land in Koto ward, this master-planned waterfront district swaps the tangle of the old city for wide promenades, glassy residential towers and the sprawling LaLaport mall. When the historic Tsukiji wholesale market closed, its trade moved here to the modern Toyosu Market, where pre-dawn sushi has become a destination in itself.
