Fès el-Bali is a living medieval city, a UNESCO-listed medina of 9,500 alleys where artisans, mosques and the ancient Al-Qarawiyyin University share space with riad guesthouses catering to cultural travellers. For investors the opportunity is the riad conversion, turning a centuries-old courtyard house into boutique accommodation.
