About Session Road / CBD

Session Road is Baguio's original main street, a 1.1-kilometer boulevard that climbs steeply from the Baguio Cathedral down to Burnham Park. Built during the American colonial period, its Art Deco facades now house a mix of legacy businesses — like the 80-year-old Baguio Center Mall — alongside newer specialty coffee shops, ramen joints, and coworking spaces. The stretch between the cathedral and the rotunda is where most of the action concentrates, with restaurants like Cafe by the Ruins (set in a WWII ruin) and Oh My Gulay (an art-restaurant hybrid in a heritage building) drawing both locals and visitors. On Sundays, the city government closes Session Road to vehicles, creating a pedestrian promenade where buskers perform, local artisans sell woven Cordillera textiles, and food vendors set up stalls. This weekly tradition has become one of Baguio's signature experiences. Just off Session Road, Harrison Road transforms nightly into the Baguio Night Market — a sprawling open-air bazaar of ukay-ukay (thrift clothing), strawberry taho, and grilled street food that runs from 9 PM to midnight. For investors, Session Road's value lies in its irreplaceable centrality. The five major universities — SLU, UB, UC, UP Baguio, and BCU — ensure a permanent student population that drives demand for small condominiums, boarding houses, and food-and-beverage commercial spaces. The BPO sector, anchored by companies like Sitel, adds professional renters. Condominium developments like Cedar Peak and Megatower near Session Road offer pre-selling units with monthly amortizations starting at PHP 10,000-13,000, targeting both students and vacation-home buyers from Manila.
